April Showers brings May Flowers!! Huh what showers -- we have moved into full summer with our current weather…  Wait the weather just changed again..cloudy   And moving into the month of May brings the new May calendar for Scrappin’ Attack – new exciting classes and crop dates!! In regards to the classes – PLEASE call early to reserve your place the classes are selling out early and we will try to accommodate additional students if time allows us to prepare additional class kits. We wanted to get a quick e-mail out before Stacie fly’s out to San Francisco for 5 days of classes – fun and learning new techniques to SHARE with us.  The event is sponsored by one of the companies we work with and is the time for store owners to be the students and learn directly from Tim Holtz – Teresa Collins and other designers who are under this companies Family of products.  So look for some fun things coming in the future.   With Stacie out of town the store will close early on Tuesday at 5:00 pm to accommodate the pick up of “the boys” by Gramma Eva. The May calendar will be out at the end of the week (when Stacie return’s) in addition to the following classes  look for a Father’s Day Mini Album Class -  a box project for the upcoming graduates and of course our 12 HOUR SCRAPPIN ATTACK  on National Scrapbook Day May 2nd. Happy Spring !!!   Haachoo !!!  Gesundheit!!  Spring is here and we can see it blowing in the wind !!  Allergies abound.. a small price to pay to live in this incredible climate.   Spring has sprung in the store… We have flowers galore on paper, sticker, ribbon – flowers with “bling” flowers you can “glimmer mist”.  We have ladybugs and ants marching through on stamps, paper and stickers.. butterflies and dragonflies are buzzing about as well.   Webster Page’s new line has amazing  papers so vivid you could just pick the berries right off the paper….  Come in and get an incredible “Taste of Spring”.   April Class are as follows:   Eggciting Egg Easter Egg make –n-take make an altered egg shape container great for an Easter basket or to hold a small gift.  Using designer paper and ribbon we will create a very decorative egg that will say “Spring is Here!!” Date:                April 1, 2009 Time:                10:30, 2:00,  4:00 and 6:00pm Cost:                $7.00 Instructor:         Eva Smith   It’ All in the Presentation! Happy Scrappin’ Hope your “St. Patty’s  Day” was fun and very green!   Our e-mail this week is a little late as the boxes of new merchandise have been rolling into the store steadily… The “What’s New is later in the e-mail. This e-mail is a little longer than we like to send BUT lots of good things are coming up and we want to make sure the information is out ASAP!!!   Our “Happy Scrappy St. Patty’s Day” mini album was filled with ways to work with acrylic –stamp it- chomp it – ink it and more.  The next class will be a 6x6 acrylic mini album details are later in the e-mail.   Creating with the Cricut classes have been sold out but the final Advance class has several spaces available so call the store if you like to learn the more advance techniques using your Cricut cutting machine. Class is $10.00 and you will work with chipboard-vinyl and Cricut pens.   Next week’s Glimmer Mist Folio class is sold out so look for more classes using the Glimmer Mist Spray to be scheduled in the following months.   April is almost here and with that comes Spring Break and the Easter Holidays – so it is time to think of those Easter cards and gifts that need to be made for family and friends.  Think crop time! both on the week-ends and daily – look for our schedule later in this e-mail.   Classes for April: Eggciting Egg Easter Egg make -n-take make an altered egg shape container great for an Easter basket or to hold a small gift.  Using designer paper and ribbon we will create a very decorative egg that will say “Spring is Here!!” Date:                April 1, 2009 Time:                10:30 - 2:00 - 4:00 - 6:00pm Cost:                $7.00 Instructor:         Eva Smith   It’ All in the Presentation! In this class you will make four different “gift boxes” because it is all about the presentation and not the gift.  Have you notice the very cute “cupcakes” on the cake stand???  Here is the class to learn how to make those very cute “gift cupcakes” they will hold favors and candies beautifully. Three other boxes will be made during the class as well using several mediums. The Scor Pal – Cricut and Accucut Machine.  All boxes differ in style and size and make a great presentation when given. – Only 6 spaces per class. WOW!!  We have had a great response to this month’s classes – the Creating with Cricut basic class sold out, as has the intermediate class.  There are still some seats left  for the advance class working with chipboard –vinyl and pens so call the store to sign up. This series of classes will be offered again so watch our weekly e-mails for dates and times.    This week at Scrappin Attack we have two classes being offered Wednesday- March 11th, is the “Be Dazzled” class with Stacie – an opportunity to learn to use the stickers that enhance and add great dimension to cards and page layouts. Get that “embossed” look without all the work.. $15.00   Thursday March 12th begins the Scrapbook 101 series of three classes– for those who are new to scrapbooking and want to learn the techniques and tricks to take ALL those photos from boxes to well documented albums.$25.00 for all three classes   Remaining classes for March are:          Happy Scrappy St. Patty’s Day   This begins our monthly mini album class. You will create a Mini acrylic album acknowledging St. Patrick’s Day.  Stamping and rub-ons will be used to add flair to a “green colored “book. You will also have the chance to use the “CHOMP IT” and “BIND IT ALL” machines. The 1 hour class is offered 3 different times during the day with a maximum class size of 5 per class. Instructor:  Eva Smith Tuesday – March 17th 11:00am – 12:00pm 2:00pm –    3:00pm 6:00pm –   7:00pm Fee: $7.00         Glimmer Mist Photo Folio   Create a beautiful photo folio that will be part of your home photo décor.  The folio will hold a 5x7 and several 4x6 and other size photos as well.  In this class you will create a folio using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Glimmer Screens.  If you have not altered your paper crafts using Glimmer Mist this is the class for you to become familiar with the amazing effect and impact of this water based spray. Hello March….   We are moving quickly into Spring and the store is also reflecting the change of season.  St. Patrick’s Day paper and embellishments are highlighted along with the new Daisy Bucket lines of colorful Spring paper.  And very cute Easter paper will make great cards and layout for the Easter Season.   We want to take a quick minute and review the classes for March as they are quickly selling out…   Creating with Cricut for tomorrow is sold out and Cricut class #2 (intermediate level) has only 4 spaces remaining,, Please call the store to reserve your seat if you want to develop your skills on this wonderful tool.   “Irish you Happiness” is a mini acrylic album class that introduces you to working with acrylic albums.  You will emboss it, stamp it, chomp it and bind it…all in one class.   Be Dazzled and the Glimmer Mist photo folio samples are in the store – stop in to take a look and sign up for these classes. With Be Dazzled you will find a new technique to have the “embossed” look on your cards and pages without a lot of work.  Learn to use or enhance your knowledge of the Glimmer Mist sprays to add amazing color and depth to your paper crafting.   Remind friends and family who have wanted to “join” you in scrapbooking, that we are starting the Scrapbook 101 classes this month.  A series of 3 classes that “stand alone” or work together to get you started or enhance skills in this fun hobby we all enjoy.  Not only is this a fun hobby it is the opportunity to document the families photo history and stories that live from generation to generation.  Don’t let those stories and photos find themselves lost – let that legacy live by getting it organized and scrapped.   Check the website for detailed class description, time and cost.  Or call the store for further details.   Reminder: PLEASE call us early for cropping times.  We are thrilled that our Crop Times are filling up quickly.  Call your friends, pick the date, and CALL to reserve those “play dates” for yourselves.
